Rob Koremans appointed new Chief Executive Officer of Zentiva
Zentiva’s Chief Executive Officer Jiri Michal to Step Down
Prague, Czech Republic - June 29, 2010 - Sanofi-aventis announced today that Jiri Michal, Chief Executive Officer of Zentiva, will be stepping down on June 30, after thirty-six years with the Zentiva organisation and its' legacy companies. Jiri Michal has been Chief Executive Officer since 1993 and oversaw a period of international expansion and sustained growth of the business leading up to the acquisition of Zentiva by sanofi-aventis in 2009.
He will be replaced as Chief Executive Officer, with effect from July 1, by Rob Koremans, Senior Vice President, Generics Europe, sanofi-aventis and President of Zentiva, who joined sanofi-aventis in September 2009. Rob has worked closely with Jiri during the last nine months to ensure a smooth and stable transition of responsibilities. Based in Prague, Rob Koremans reports to Hanspeter Spek, President, Global Operations, sanofi-aventis.

Aged 47, Rob Koremans holds a Medical degree from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam, Netherlands. He started his career in 1988 at Sanofi BV, the Dutch subsidiary of Sanofi SA. He later on joined the Serono Group in 1993 and was appointed Vice-President, Europe in 1998, before joining Gruenenthal in 2000 where he was appointed Member of the Executive Board between 2003 and 2007. From 2007 to 2009, Rob was Chief Executive Officer of Cryo-Save, Europe’s leading stem cell storage company. As from September 2009, Rob was Senior Vice President, Generics Europe, sanofi-aventis and President of Zentiva.
